High School Spotlight: Cameron Brown

Hi, my name is Cameron Nicole Brown. I am 16 years old and have been homeschooled my whole life. My interests are video games, anime, horseback riding, music, writing, and swimming. I play 15 instruments and can pick up any instrument and play it decently within an hour. My primary instruments are tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, piano, violin, and bass guitar. I have played for the homeschool organization Orange Coast Musical Arts since I was 6 years old.

Some of my most proud accomplishments are being able to play the full Turkish March movement by age 9 on the piano, playing a full song on the tenor saxophone within 7 hours, having no prior experience with wind instruments, and learning the violin at 6 years old. I used to swim competitively and qualified for the summer 2019 Junior Olympics. Also, within my first year of horseback riding, I have yet to fall off, even if the horse is bucking.

My future goals are to one day purchase my own horse and own horse property. I also hope to become an attorney because I’m good at arguing my point, and they make good money.

Being a learner at iLEAD has allowed me the freedom to pursue horseback riding in ways that I could not if enrolled in a traditional school. I attend music literally all day, one day a week, and that satisfies the school requirements, plus more. I also attend horseback riding twice a week for long periods of time. So, my physical education requirement is not only satisfied, but the time I spend at the barn has allowed me to excel faster and become more proficient due to the flexibility that iLEAD provides.
