Waterfront Education’s Solar Cup for High Schoolers

Waterfront Education

Waterfront Education is seeking a maximum of 20 high school learners to join their Solar Cup team. The Solar Cup competition is held annually in May, when high schools from all over Los Angeles compete in various boat races. It is hosted by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC).

High schoolers race boats they build, which are powered by solar energy. This is an extra-curricular class that meets once a week, along with attending the workshops MWDSC hosts throughout the months leading up to it.

It is free to join, and Waterfront Education is working on providing transportation for those who need it. For more information about the competition, visit the Waterfront Education website.

Learners interested in this unique opportunity should contact Brittany Wilson-Guillermo if interested. The team needs to be assembled by Sept. 27.
