Learner Spotlight: Tala Peterson
Ninth-grader Tala Peterson (age 15) loves the flexibility of independent studying with iLEAD Exploration because she can go on adventures any day she chooses! Her favorite grand adventure was visiting Iceland, but Tala likes everyday adventures, too. She volunteers with the children’s program at her church and recently ran in a 5K to raise money for charity.
A life-long independent studyer, Tala is a talented baker and makes delicious Tala’s Treats to give as gifts and sell at her brother’s music shows. Her love for cooking comes in handy at the confirmation dinners she cooks and serves at her church.
An avid traveler and aspiring teacher, Tala hopes to one day visit Greece. She enjoys many other pastimes, such as singing in the choir, teaching young children, and exercising. Her favorite school subjects are language arts, history, and Spanish. independent studying with iLEAD helps make all these activities possible for her!
