Book Club for Grades 6th-8th: The Last Cuentista
Calling all middle schoolers! Join us virtually every Friday at 9 AM September 1-22. Learners will read The Last Cuentista and take a deep dive into stories that make up our collective culture. They’ll explore traditional myths and legends in Hispanic culture. This book was chosen to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated September 15 through October 15. Additionally, the protagonist has retinitis pigmentosa, a disability that affects her vision. Lastly, learners will explore botany and foraging through the experience of the protagonist and explore their own thoughts on time and space travel.
