Congrats To Essay Contest Winner Anya Sharma

Anya Sherman

Congratulations to second grader, Anya Sharma, who won the Long Beach Public Library’s essay contest, “How Reading Changed My Life”!  Anya won first place for 6-7 year olds and a $100 gift card to Barnes and Noble. Essays were judged by the Friends of the Long Beach Public Library. They said Anya’s was by far the obvious first choice. Participants were required to write about their favorite book and describe it. Anya wrote about the “The Magic Tree House” series and explained that learning to read changed her life. She said that reading is magic and takes her on adventures.

Great job, Anya! We’re so proud of you!
