iLEAD Exploration Learners’ Experiments and Art Headed for ISS

On October 12 and 13, iLEAD Exploration learners on DreamUp Launch Teams Charlie and Yucca Glauca loaded their Mixstix with their groundbreaking experiments headed for space, and on October 18, the works of five iLEAD Exploration artists were selected to launch to space.

For each DreamUp Launch Team, one Mixstix will stay grounded here on Earth, while the other is destined for the International Space Station on November 5!

Our learners on Team Charlie are excited to learn the answer to their question: “What are the effects of microgravity on the germination, root growth, and root structure of Glechoma hederacea?”

In addition, learners in grades TK-12 submitted art to the 2022-23 DreamUp Mission Patch Artwork Design Challenge. After careful deliberation, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve selected our winning designs! You can view them in the image below. Congratulations to artists Catherine Yee, Matthew Foote, Seraphine Alquaddoomi, and David Choi. Their patches will be heading to the International Space Station alongside our school’s DreamUp Launch Team Charlie’s experiment and mission patch on SpX-29! We’re incredibly proud of everyone who participated in this out-of-this-world competition!
